Chad Acton was born and raised in rural Ward, Alabama. Chad's grandparents were the first people to introduce him to the world of country music. His love of country music began with listening to the classics as he and his grandparents gathered around a tiny radio and tuned into the Grand Ole Opry every Saturday evening. As a lifelong fan of country music, the performance bug finally bit when a friend's mother encouraged Chad to enter a school talent show. After his rendition of Eddie Arnold's "Make the World Go Away", Patrician Academy's football star added "aspiring country artist" to his resume. Chad went on to attend the University of Alabama where his budding football career was sidelined by an injury. Although devastated, Chad was able to commit more time to the pursuit of his other passion: music. Today, Chad resides in Meridian, MS with his wife and three young sons. In addition to his musical aspirations, Chad wears many hats. In the past, Chad has worked as a licensed EMT and as a football coach. Presently, he is a licensed athletic trainer, owner of Acton Lawncare, and is the public relations coordinator for Rehab Care. Although very busy, Chad remains devoted to his family-still finding time to coach his sons' soccer and T-ball teams and volunteer at his church. His spare time is spent rehearsing with his band and mastering the guitar. Chad's raw talent has made tremendous strides. Influential to his musical style are Elvis, George Strait, Eddie Arnold, and Glenn Campbell. From these greats, his versatility has emerged. Chad can deliver a powerful ballad yet also shake up the crowd with his Elvis style flair. He has become a seasoned entertainer and competitor in talent competitions throughout the region. Personally, Chad's greatest honor was his 1997 win in the prestigious Jimmie Rodgers talent competition. Chad has performed with Doug Supernaw, opened for various country music artists, entertained at numerous local and area wide events and wowing every crowd along the way. He recently performed at the Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville, TN where Chad shared the stage with Amy Chappell and her band. In November 2006, Chad opened the show for Blaine Larson and Craig Morgan. Grateful for every opportunity he has had to showcase his talent, singing and performing are Chad's passions, and he is confidently forging ahead with his dream.
